This blog contains the 1928 Diary of my mother, Iris Hunter and her sister Nora Hunter. At the time of it's writing, they were attending Bournemouth High School, a boarding school for girls in Bournemouth, England. It was their final year after which they would be returning to their home in Shanghai, China. Iris turned 17 in Feb of that year and her sister would be 16 in July. I've transcribed it as written along with any photos that were pasted into the diary. I've also added in a few photos

March 23 - Auntie May arrival
23 Friday (83-283)
Daddy will be with us in 11 days time! Hip, hip, hurray! Daddy is most likely speeding on his way the moment I am writing this ie; 7:40 AM. You are to arrive at Chita today. Eunice says that Auntie May is arriving today and so we might see her soon! in the afternoon we watched the junior netball finals between Drake and Nelson. Drake won 29 to 7. Jolly good, Drake. Raleigh won the senior. Nora went to the classical society lecture called the "Lure of Latin" by Miss Gedge. It was wonderful and most amusing! We did prep after tea.
