Arrive Perim 6 a.m. Went ashore 6:30 in ship's motorboat. Mr Jergens steered it.
He was as black as soot. Coaled here.
Walked to end of island.
Volcanic. Nothing but stones.
Took photo, Not a breath of wind.
Saw tennis courts. Went back to boat 7:30
Watched boat go. Glad to get away. Had to turn.
Next port, Colombo.
Still hot!
