3 Monday (247-119)
Today was our last shopping day in London and so there was a bit of a rush. Iris
and self had our hair waved and did some shopping. Daddy went down to the
Taylor's. In the afternoon we met daddy at Tom Wallis's to see about curtain
material but we failed to get it. Then we went to Selfridge's and bought bags
and an iron. Then we rushed back to the hotel, changed for dinner and Auntie
Nellie arrived. We had our grand farewell dinner (Champagne) and went to Drury
Lane to see "Showboat" We had good seats. It was a wonderful play. There were 14
scenes and the music was beautiful. We got back about 12 PM. We thoroughly
enjoyed ourselves.
