3 Friday (216-150)
We spent this morning in shopping. We bought a pair of silver shoes each and
Iris bought a sandal styled pair as well. After lunch we took the 2:15 bus for
Stratford and arrived about 3:30. There was a fair on there. First we went to
Anne Hathaway's cottage. We had to cross a field to get to it. The cottage was
well preserved and very unique.
We ate our sandwiches on our return to
Stratford. Then we had a nice each. Next we went to Holy Trinity Church and saw
Shakespeare's burial place. His tomb was placed in the church thus showing he
had some importance attached to him. Paid 6d entrance. Next saw grammar school
from outside and went to River. Went for a trip 2 miles up river. Magnificent
views. Swans tame. Had tea and cakes. Went to see "Midsummer Night's Dream".
Wonderfully good. Scenery good. Returned 12 PM
