1st in Lent Ember Week
I am writing the diary today because Iris in bed. I
have not been allowed to see Iris. I have been writing letters most of today, played the gramophone and read. We had our tea buy the senior common room fire. I
have written to Mummy and Hilda. I have not written to Daddy because he will
leave Shanghai in 18 days time and so will not get my letter in time! In 36 days
Daddy will be with us again! What thrills. The time is flying now and we are
beginning to believe that he is really coming!
